Sultan Kudarat is the Muscovado Capital of the Philippines

In a bid to further strengthen the sugarcane production and muscovado processing in the province of Sultan Kudarat, Department of Trade and Industry -Sultan Kudarat (DTI-SK) recently conducted a Muscovado Technology Forum and Market Matching at the SP session hall of this province’s capitol.  Attended by various stakeholders of the industry (sugarcane farmers, millers and muscovado processing plant owners), DTI-SK invited experts to talk on various technologies affecting sugarcane production and muscovado processing. Local growers and millers  aired their concerns and shared their experiences on sugarcane production, muscovado processing and marketing initiatives. Market matching between muscovado millers and potential buyers, followed after the forum. With the help of DTI-SK, a council of sugarcane, farmers, millers and muscovado producers was formed to centralize and  direct the growth of muscovado production in the province.

  1. How can I contact the Sultan Kudarat Muscovado Farmers and Millers Association? We’re planning to have a benchmarking there for a possible muscovado production project.
