Tacurong Online is attending the Google Map Maker Summit Mindanao!
Yes, we are! Perhaps, the first step towards mapping Tacurong City and putting the city of Goodwill online for good. Google, the online search giant is just happy to help us or anyone willing to spend time to map their place using their Google Map Maker.
Google Map Maker allows you to add and update geographic information for millions of users to see in Google Maps and Google Earth. By sharing information about the places you know, like businesses in your town or places in your school campus, you can ensure the map accurately reflects the world around you. Your updates will be reviewed and once approved, will appear online for people from all over the world to see.
What are the benefits of putting your place online and into the google map? Tourism and disaster preparedness are the two most compelling reason to “map” your place. To help you with these, Google is conducting Map Making workshops and summits in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The three Map Maker summits are envisioned to kick-off MapUps or Mapping activities and/or initiatives for tourism and health establishments in their respective regions.-Bariles of Gensantos.com
