Sox Bloggers covers 2011 Talakudong Festival (Part Uno)

Yes and for the first time, Mindanao’s funnest SocCSarSKGen Bloggers trooped to Tacurong City last September 17 to 18, 2011 and had a first hand taste of Tacurongnons hospitality while covering the famed Talakudong Festival. The Sox Bloggers, headed by Avel Manansala (Gensantos.com) together with Ariel Lalisan (ariellalisan.com) Nanards Zee (Southcotabato.org), Jose Laurence Perojo(gensanboy.com), Arce Garcera (pinasbackpackers.com), Marz Bendol, Joy Villareal (joyvillareal.com), Van Almeria (vmalmeria.blogspot.com) and Remo Aguilar (tacurongcity.net) weren’t deterred by rains and floods.

The group arrived in the afternoon of sept 17, 2011 and headed first to the office of the city mayor for a courtesy call and an informal dialogue. The group was warmly welcomed by the very accommodating Hon Mayor Lina Montilla, City Administrator Mr. Boy Nicolo and Information Officer Allan Freno. Sox bloggers relayed to the mayor their advocacy, which is to highlight the positive events and promote eco tourism in the regions of SocCSarSKGen. Tacurong City being part of Sultan Kudarat (SK) in SoccSarSKGen and Talakudong Festival, being the famed festival of this city. The city mayor on the other hand expressed her willingness to support such advocacies and the informal partnerships that the Sox Bloggers has forged with the different LGUs of SocCSarSKGen.

After the courtesy call, the group had a brief tour around the city hall lobby, took some pictures and gazed at the Igpat sang Kamera photo exhibit. The group then proceeded to VE-JR Ihaw-Ihaw sa Exit for their dinner. Here the group, was warmly received by the owner Mr. Batchar who shared his business experience in Tacurong City. The group was served the best african hito delicacies in town and the famed Ilonggo “nilagpang”.

Thereafter, the group had a brief tour around the city of tacurong and took some pictures in Tacurongs famed “roundball” salakot marker.

Sox bloggers then checked in at their accommodations at the Sultan Kudarat State Polytechnic College HRM Lab Hotel called “Lilliputian”. This roomy and comfortable mini hotel is located right in the heart of the city and just across the city grounds!
