System Advisory for 02/16/2013 (Saturday): Mindanao Grid is on Red Alert for 24 hours due to Generation Deficiency. Grid Capability at 825MW: Total Load to Maintain for February 2013 at 745MW: Curtailment Level at 200MW. With the above cited situation, we regret to inform our SUKELCO member-consumers that as of now, your Electric Cooperative is compelled to conduct load curtailment through rotational brownouts with maximum of 2 hours per feeder a day. This has nothing to do with our services for we are solely dependent with the supply generated from NPC-PSALM. We understand the inconveniences it had brought us but we can do nothing but to impose rotational brown-out as per advice by National Grid Corporation of the Philippines. As of now, SUKELCO’s demand is more than 21MW, but because of the deficiency, we are now only maintaining 13MW, less than 8MW with our required demand. We are asking for your understanding on this Mindanao Wide problem where SUKELCO has no control of.

The looming power supply shortages that has affected the whole of its Mindanao consumers was a result of National Grid Corporation of The Philippines to provide enough power supply to its contracting electric cooperatives nationwide. You can view NGCP’s power situation and power curtailment status on their page.

As a service to its consumers then, SUKELCO has released, on a daily basis since March 8, 2013,  schedules of power curtailment and areas affected notices to its consumers via its website and its facebook page.
