First and Only Multi Slice 3D Reconstruction Capable Commuted Tomography Scan (CT-Scan) in Tacurong City

The newest and tertiary specialist hospital in the city, St. Louis Hospital comes up with another unique diagnostic facility that caters to the need of the community. St. Louis Hospital’s multislice 3D Reconstruction capable CT Scan went fully operational this January 2012 to cater to the need of patients from Tacurong City and the nearby towns and municipalities. Easily accessible, reasonably priced and housed inside the première tertiary hospital of the city, this CT scan is the first and only CT Scan facility in Tacurong City. This obviates the need for patients brought out of the city just for this diagnostic alone.

Computed Tomography Scan is a helpful diagnostic modality for vehicular accidents victims and other trauma patients with head injuries. It is also helpful in the diagnosis of cerebral infarct or stroke, tumors, comminuted articular bone fractures and maxillofacial trauma. St. Louis Hospital’s CT Scan unit has been fully tested by an independent standard assessment group and operated by trained radiologist, radiologic technicians trained specifically for CT Scan procedures.

As a complement to this facility, St. Louis Hospital added specialists physicians catering to patients with specialist needs after a CT Scan. Physicians in the field of Neurosurgery, Neurology, CT Scan Radiologist, Maxillo Facial Surgeons, General Surgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons are all now available in the hospital to attend to patients of St. Louis Hospital. Specialist care services like the Intensive Care Neuro/surgical/medical unit were also added and is now fully functional. Hospital’s operating room has also been upgraded with equipments addressing the need for more specialized surgeries. Just recently, the hospital successfully conducted its first ever craniotomy performed by a board certified neurosurgeon.
